Sinopsis / Synopsis

Maayan es un pescador que vive en un pueblo en la costa del sur de la India, arraigado en las tradiciones hindúes. Vive asumiendo los dictámenes de su madre pero, tras la muerte de esta, se rebela desobedeciendo las costumbres.

Maayan is a fisherman who lives in a village in the south coast of India rooted in the Hindu tradition. He lives assuming the decisions of his mother but after her death Maayan rebels and dares to challenge centuries old customs.

ALFREDO DE BRAGANZA (Alicante, España, 1976) Ha viajado por diferentes países y ha trabajado en diversos campos. Durante los últimos 10 años ha vivido en la India. Ha realizado cortometrajes en diversos formatos (digital, 16 mm y 35 mm) y un largometraje documental titulado “Smoking Babas, Holy Men of India”, rodado en el norte de la India en idioma hindi e inglés. Su primer largometraje denominado "Tsunamika", rodado en el 2008 en el sur de la India, en idioma tamil, captando las ricas tradiciones y cultura tamiles, convirtió a Alfredo de Braganza en el primer español en realizar un largometraje de ficción en la India, en celuloide e idioma autóctono. La re-edición realizada en el 2010 se titula “Maayan el pescador”.

ALFREDO DE BRAGANZA (Alicante, Spain, 1976) He has traveled to different countries and has worked in various fields. He has lived in India for the last 10 years. He has made short films in various formats (digital, 16 mm and 35 mm). In addition to a feature documentary film shot in 2010 entitled "Smoking Babas, Holy Men of India" shot in Northern India in Hindi and English language. His first feature film called "Tsunamika", filmed in 2008 in South India in Tamil language, capturing the rich Tamil culture and traditions, made Alfredo de Braganza to become the first Spanish person to make a feature film in India, on celluloid (shot in 16mm) and native language. The re-edited version made in 2010 titled “Maayan the fisherman”.
