A partir del 18 de julio de 1936 comienza en Canarias un proceso represivo de dimensiones inimaginables. Miles de personas serán detenidas y cientos de ellas desaparecidas. Muchas irán a parar al fondo del temible agujero del horror de la Sima de Jinámar.

From July 18, 1936 a repressive process of unimaginable dimensions begins in the Canary Islands (Spain). Thousands of people will be arrested and hundreds of them disappeared. Many of them would go to the bottom of the dreadful hole of the horror of the Sima de Jinámar.

JUAN JOSÉ MONZÓN GIL (Gran Canaria, ESPAÑA, 1968) es profesor superior de guitarra. De formación autodidacta, se inicia en el mundo del cine con el documental “El taller de la lapa de Sol”, ganador del Primer Premio en la Muestra Certamen de Cine Educativo de Agaete (2015) y Primer Premio al Mejor Documental Etnográfico de Canarias, organizado por el Colectivo Cultural La Escalera (Tenerife, 2015). Ese mismo año, gana el Premio del Público en la 5ª Muestra Concurso Visionaria – Conceptos de Isla, organizado por Vértigo Cine (2015) con el microcorto titulado “El Paseo”.

JUAN JOSÉ MONZÓN GIL (Gran Canaria, SPAIN, 1968) is a Guitar Professor. He begins, self-taught, in the world of cinema with the documentary "El Taller de la Lapa de Sol", winner of the First Prize at the Agaete Educational Film Contest (2015) and First Prize for the Best Documentary Ethnographic of the Canaries, organized by the cultural colective named La Escalera (Tenerife, 2015). The same year, he won the Public Award in the 5th Contest Visionaria - Conceptos de Isla, organized by Vértigo Cinema (2015) with the short film titled 'El Paseo'.
