Sinopsis / Synopsis

Finding My Legs aborda el pasado y el presente de un hombre extraordinario cuya joven vida transcurre en el peor de los horrores de Irak y en la mejor de las mentira de una Gran Bretaña contemporánea. La película trata el primer viaje de Shaho a Halbja y sus intentos para descubrir qué le sucedió -y a sus piernas- un día hace 28 años.

Finding My Legs is about the past and the present of an extraordinary man whose young life takes in the worst horrors of Iraq and the best sides of the lie in contemporary Britain. The film follows Shaho’s first journey back to Halabja and his attempts to find out exactly what happened to him - and to his legs - that day 28 years ago.

ALAN SABIR AMIN (Kirkuk, Kurdistan, 01/07/1974) Director, guionista, actor, director de fotografía, coordinador de talleres cinematográficos, editor y coordinador de festivales. Se graduó en Dirección Teatral e Interpretación en Irak entre 1989 y 1994. Posteriormente, cursó una diplomatura en Cine, Industria y Televisión y un certificado en Dirección Cinematográfica en la London Film Academy. También cursó un máster en Dirección Cinematográfica en la Manchester Metropolitan University. En 2005 fundó el The Kurdish Creative Film Centre en Manchester. Alan ha dirigido más de 13 cortometrajes y documentales, muchos de los cuales han sido reconocidos. Su primer largometraje “Journey Through the Night” está ahora en preproducción. Alan fundó el Manchester Kurdish Film Festival y lo dirigió durante siete años.

ALAN SABIR AMIN (Kirkuk, Kurdistan, 07/01/1974) Director, Script writer, Actor, Director of Photography, Filmmaking Workshop Leader, Editor and Festival Coordinator. He obtained a degree in theatre Directing and acting in Iraq beginning in 1989-1994 and then completed a national diploma in Film, media and television and a Filmmaking certificate at the London Film Academy and he gain MA Filmmaking at Manchester Metropolitan University. In 2005 Alan founded The Kurdish Creative Film Centre in Manchester. Alan has over 13 short films and documentaries to his name, many of which have gained festival acclaim, and his first feature film “Journey Through the Night” is now in pre-production, Alan Sabir Amin found Manchester Kurdish Film Festival and run for Seven years and run Five annual film Festival.
