Lilo Vilaplana (1965) Nuevitas. Camagüey. Cuba. Residente en usa .
Actualmente acaba de rodar EL CABALLO, su más reciente película, y en el 2019 dirigir su primer largometraje PLANTADOS, sobre el presidio político Cubano producción de Centurion Films y Vilaplana Films. Ganador del Premio del público en el Festival de Cine de Miami.Sus cortometrajes La Muerte del Gato y La Casa Vacía han participado en importantes festivales del mundo, como The short film Corner en Cannes. La muerte del gato, obtuvo el premio al mejor cortometraje de América Latina en el FICABC en España. Las series que ha dirigido Vilaplana han sido galardonadas en distintos Festiva- les como el India Catalina de Colombia y entre ellos ha recibido premios a mejor director en varias oportunidades.
Ganador del PREMIO EMMY al mejor programa de habla no inglesa en prime time de EEUU con EL INFIERNO DE MONTOY Maestro, Director, Productor, y Guionista. En televisión ha dirigido exitosas se- ries como: El Capo (tres temporadas) con Fox Telecolombia. Dueños del PaRAISO. Telemundo.

Lilo Vilaplana (1965) Nuevitas. Camaguey. Cuba. Currently, he has just shot EL CABALLO, his most recent film, and in 2019 directing his first feature film PLANTADOS, about the Cuban political prison, produced by Centurion Films and Vilaplana Films. Winner of the Audience Award at the Miami Film Festival.
His short films La Muerte del Gato and La Casa Vacía have participated in important world festivals, such as The short film Corner in Cannes. The death of the cat, won the award for the best short film in Latin America at the FICABC in Spain. The series that Vilaplana has directed have been awarded in different festivals such as the India Catalina in Colombia and among them he has received awards for best director on several occasions. Winner of the EMMY AWARD for the best prime time foreign language program in the US with EL INFIERNO DE MONTOY Teacher, Director, Producer, and Screenwriter. On television he has directed successful series such as: El Capo (three seasons) with Fox Telecolombia. Owners of the PARADISE. Telemundo.
