Sinopsis / Synopsis

En 1995 Johnny Beerens pintó The Oostburgse water tower con la idea de reflejar “la eternidad” en un mural, pero la capa no pudo resistir el paso del tiempo. Veinte años después, en el verano de 2014, el artista se sube al andamio para restaurar su obra. Con el fin de comprometerse y prepararse para este trabajo, abandona su taller y todo lo que contiene para aclarar su mente, solo de esta manera el mural podrá poseerle y viceversa.

In 1995 Johnny Beerens painted The Oostburgse water tower in the idea of creating "eternity" with a mural, but the coating could not withstand the test of time. Twenty years later, in the summer of 2014, the fine artist again ascends the scaffold to renovate his brainchild. In order to be fully engaged in and to prepare for this former work, he feels the need to let go of his workshop and all it contains to utterly clear his head. Only then the mural can again completely take possession of him and vice versa.

JEANNICE ADRIAANSENS (Hulst, PAISES BAJOS, 20/10/1965) estudió primero medicina antes de seguir a su corazón y empezar a hacer cine. Comenzó a hacer televisión e hizo 9 cortometrajes para niños. En la actualidad, es profesora de guión en la escuela de cine de Gante desde hace 8 años, y comenzó a hacer cortometrajes para adultos en el 2006. Jeannice prefiere las historias pequeñas con pocas palabras. Historias que son una metáfora de la vida.

JEANNICE ADRIAANSENS (Hulst, NETHERLANDS, 10/20/1965) first studied medicine before she followed her heart and started filmmaking. She started making television and made 9 short movies for children. For the moment she is a teacher screenwriting at the film school in Gent for more than 8 years and started making short films for adults since 2006. Springtij is the second short film and the third is in production. Jeannice Adriaansens prefers to observe small stories with few words. Stories which are a metaphore for life.
