Sinopsis / Synopsis

Un padre se debate entre la cordura y la locura ante la reciente y violenta pérdida de su hijo. Acompañamos al progenitor en su alegato frente al juez por la custodia del niño, en su viaje interior al traumático pasado y en su intento de reconciliación con el amargo presente.

A father struggles between sanity and madness after the untimely loss of his son. We accompany him through his statement before a Jury, we travel with him to the depths of his traumatic past, and we suffer with him as he tries to come to terms with the bitter present.

FRANCISCO RUBIO (Madrid, 01/11/1984) Durante su adolescencia, Rubio se hizo aficionado a actuar en cortometrajes digitales con otros artistas amateur; su primer corto como director, “LUCHA”, lo rodó en los alrededores del pequeño pueblo aragonés de Biel y en un ala ya destruida del hospital Miguel Servet de Zaragoza. El cortometraje “Padre” representa la opera prima de Rubio como realizador a nivel profesional. Se trata de un cortometraje que denuncia la precaria situación del padre en España frente a la custodia de sus hijos una vez divorciado.

FRANCISCO RUBIO (Madrid, Spain, 11/01/1984) During his adolescence, Rubio started acting in amateur digitial shorts alongside other amateur artists. his first short film, “LUCHA”, was filmed with friends and family in the Aragonese village of Biel, and in a ruinous wing of the Miguel Servet Hospital in Saragossa. The short film "Father" is the debut of Francisco Rubio as a director at a professional level. This is a short film which depicts the precarious situation of the father figure in Spain as far as the custody of their children after a divorce is concerned.
