Aislado, desesperado y atormentado por su nacimiento manchado de carbón, Clarence Lockwood continúa su descenso diario a la maldita mina de Maple, incluso después de haber dejado paralítico a su padre y ciego a su hijo menor. En en 1907 y basado en los propios antecesores de Jesse Kreitzer, "Black Canaries" es una poderosa mditación sobre el patrimonio, la lealtad y el amor.

Isolated, desperate, and haunted by his coal-stained birthright, Clarence Lockwood continues his daily descent into the accursed Maple mine, even after it has crippled his father and blinded his youngest son. Set in 1907 and based on director Jesse Kreitzer’s own coalmining ancestry, Black Canaries is a powerful meditation on patrimony, loyalty, and love.

JESSE LOCKWOOD KREITZER (Vermont, EE.UU., 1985). Cineasta. Utilizando la genealogía y los materiales de archivo como conducto creativo, las películas documentales y narrativas de Kreitzer exploran la fragilidad y la preservación de la memoria, el linaje y la tradición. Sus películas han sido proyectadas en festivales de cine, galerías y museos de todo el mundo incluyendo la Galería Nacional de Arte, el Museo de la Imagen en Movimiento, Biografilm, Raindance, Oldenburg International, Camden Internacional, Ashland Independiente, IFFBoston, Woodstock, Atlanta y Denver Film Festivals y han recibido premios Oscar® y premios regionales Emmy®. Using genealogy and archival materials as creative conduit, Kreitzer's documentary and narrative films explore the fragility and preservation of memory, lineage and tradition. His films have screened at film festivals, galleries and museums worldwide including The National Gallery of Art, The Museum of the Moving Image, Biografilm, Raindance, Oldenburg International, Camden International, Ashland Independent, IFFBoston, Woodstock, Atlanta and Denver Film Festivals, among others, and have received Oscar®-qualifying and regional Emmy® awards. His most important films are "Lomax" (2014), "The Murder Ballad of James Jones" (2015) o "Black Canaries" (2016).
