Sinopsis
Cabanyal, a section of Valencia, has been targeted for a controversial redevelopment project that calls for the demolition of the old barrio buildings, declared Heritage of Cultural Interest in 1993, to make room for highrises. Just like Benidorm, a tourist center with beachfront hotels symbolizing the cementation of Spain’s coastline. Its ironic title alluding to scores of other seaside resorts, the film takes a critical view of urban redevelopment projects overcast by clouds of corruption and speculation. Facing the authorities and profithungry investors are the local residents determined to defend their homes and sense of neighborhood.
